Morning everyone Merry Christmas to you all - hope you are having as lovely time as we are
We had a fab Christmas day in the sun - of course. It started off with a full fry up in the garden listening to Christmas carols, with cockatoos squawking above us - different! They were predicting 40 degrees so we decided to go down to the river instead of beach, and took ourselves down to Freshwater Bay for the afternoon. It's a small bay in Claremont, surrounded by stunning houses, and for some reason virtually deserted.
All the parks and green spaces have electric BBQ's which anyone can use, but today we decided to have a fab prawn and salmon picnic washed down with champagne ... hell. We sat in the shade as it got warmer and warmer and warmer.
And to top it all, watched dolphins jumping in the bay.
When we sobered up we went up to King's Park, the main green space in Perth. A fab space overlooking the city. Janette then became a 'human pin cushion', obviously my sweet British blood was a great Christmas day delicacy for the local bugs who took great advantage. I am now covered in bites and have taken to chemical warfare - ooo I smell sweet!

In the middle of the park there is a fountain that shoots up really high every 5 minutes - the kids love it of course, trying to avoid getting hit, or anyway making sure they do - very nearly went down myself for a paddle.
