We left Glenelg and it felt like we had turned the corner and were heading home, in some ways. We were aiming eventually for the Great Ocean Road, but had some great stops on the way, to break the journey. And what a journey.
We drove out towards Victor Harbour - where you get the ferry to Kangeroo Island. Unfortunately we had to give it a miss this time It would have been lovely to spend more time here, but we can't do everything.
Everywhere you go in Australia there is wall art, from fabulous graffiti to painted tiles. This was in Victor Harbour.
From there we had to get up to near Tailem Bend to get back on the coast road and down to Robe, where we were spending the night.
We trundled along, and then suddenly the road stops at a river, literally stops in front of the water. We sat there looking at each other, thinking we have gone the wrong way. At last a truck stops behind us and thankfully tells us that a ferry will be along soon to take us across.
COMMENT: we have found in Oz that there seems to be a complete lack of road signs that in anyway tells drivers where the hell they are going. I think that you must have to be psychic over here to work out where the hell you are going..... rant over.
We were heading for a drive along the Coorang National Park - a spit of land made up a sand that runs along the coast as far as Kingston. Most of it you have to drive across in a 4 wheel truck, but occasionally the road ran past parts of it, and it was stunning, a bit smelly from the algae, but so sparce and barren, but very beautiful.

| Phew what a pong |
The first major town we hit was Kingston, famous for it'sseafood - and of course a giant lobster turned into a cafe - what else!
And then it was on to our stopover in trendy Robe, a small village really on the coast. We only had one night there, but really felt a home there, and it would be lovely to go back.
Rod took me out on a date! and we ate some fabulous seafood - completely stuffed and slightly squiffy. What a good day.
| That was for two by the way |
Well, it was a good job Rod was with you - that's enough to feed a small army!
