Tuesday 29th
- To Lorne via Ocean Road.
Well today we were setting off down the Great Ocean Road towards Melbourne. I was hoping for great weather as the the last time I was here I
only saw one and a half apostles - coz it was foggy - very disappointing. But today it was glorious as we set off and drove down the winding roads.
The road for the first half of the trip were virtually empty with view points scattered along the road. We stopped at them all, so it was going to be a loooooong day, but so worth it.
We stopped at London Bridge and the Loch Ard Gorge, plus loads of others.
Just beautiful
We then went on to see the 12 Apostles. Fabulous, but of course the coaches could reach here from Melbourne, so it was completely heaving with people. But wouldn't have missed it for anything.
We drove through Apollo Bay and decided to stay in Lorne overnight. The last piece of the journey was long, steep and windey and quite tiring, but great. We had a fabulous drive through the Otway ranges, miles and miles of fabulous forest, and then down into Lorne.

Lorne is a very quiet seaside place and we stayed in a really comfortable Motel, wonderful bed. We went out for beer and fish and chips for dinner, and then collapsed into bed.
